Open Day May 5th_Invitation

Spring 2012 at The Craggs

Well, it’s now April and so much has happened over the last few months. We certainly tempted fate in our last blog by commenting on the lack of snow! After a few beautiful days at the beginning of March when we thought spring has sprung, the Yorkshire weather we know and love came back with a vengeance! The snow was so deep that we had to dig cars out and some of the staff had to be collected by the Land Rover! Luckily the snow ploughing team from Craggs Energy were on hand to ensure we all got in and out freely and all the deliveries to the site could be made!

The peculiarities of the weather haven’t stopped new  tenants moving in. The doors to Swim Stars new pool are now open. Plenty of hard work went into preparing the unit and creating the pool – it looks fabulous and at the end of a hard day has us all longing for a relaxing swim. The open day was a great success and lots of lucky, excited children are now coming up daily for lessons. What a wonderful place to learn to swim – have fun! www.ukswimstars.com

Greenwood Organics are also here now producing a wonderful range of beauty products – and the smells are delicious! If you would like to know more about how these beautiful products can enhance your natural beauty, take a look at www.greenwoodorganics.co.uk

With spring in the air, our thoughts are turning to other things … the open day for the Cragg Country Business parks will be on May 5th. Hebden Royd’s Mayor Scott Trickett will be coming along to open the park along with MP Craig Whittaker. The winning tickets will also be drawn for the fabulous prizes in the Mayor’s Charity raffle. Craggs Energy have donated an Ipad3 – why not buy a ticket and pop up to see if you’ve won and have a look around to see all the amazing changes that have been happening here over the last few months? All the tenants will be here and it promises to be a great afternoon – hope to see you all there!

 Please RSVP to jessica@cvc-ltd.co.uk

Happy New Year! New Tenants!

Hello all and a very Happy New Year to all our friends in the local area. Hope you all had a lovely rest – we were hoping for some snow up here but other than a few sprinkles on the ground we were sorely disapointed. Particularly as Julian had been practising spreading grit with the quad for months – he never got to put the skills into practise!

It’s now coming up to ten months since we got our hands on this site and we have been busy bees! Craggs Energy Ltd is now working away like a well-oiled engine and Craggs Storage is filling up nicely with new customers. Building work will now be commencing on the bottom units of the site which are to house new tenants moving in Spring 2012 – watch this space as to who they are!

The house at the top of the site has now been occupied by tenants and work on the Head Office for the site is nearly complete. This will be a great feature for the site – it will house the central offices and also meeting rooms that can be hired by tenants or anyone in the local area! Keep following – we are now live on facebook and twitter so you can “like – tweet – facebook – follow the blog – email or if all else fails call 01422 888450!

Proposed Development Turkey Lodge 3D visuals Low Rez

Christmas 2011

Hello! It has been rather a long time since my last blog but for those of you who do not live in Cragg Vale – we have been rather busy up here! Since my last blog a great deal has changed at The Craggs Country Business Parks. The house at the top of the road has now been finished and is currently being advertised to be let. This has been finished to a really high standard by Zoe Holmes and photos will follow of this soon. The adjoining barn is to house The Craggs Country Business Parks Head Office and will be finished in January. Builders and site labourers have been working hard and the whole site is now beginning to take shape. In October, one of our new tenants Craggs Energy opened its doors to the local community www.craggseneergy.co.uk. Since then they have been busy delivering fuel all over West Yorkshire and are launching their Renewable Energy division in January 2012. They will offer not only fuel oil but wind turbines, solar thermal, biomass and a range of other products and services! Well done to all those who work at Craggs Energy for their work at putting Cragg Vale back on the map! Shortly after this Craggs Storage opened its units www.craggstorage.com offering self storage in a range of units and sizes. We have had lots of people using this service already and hope to carry on filling up our units into January.

Plans for the New Year will include the launch of our Serviced Offices (name yet to be confirmed) and the introduction of a few new tenants to our Business Parks. Hopefully you have seen some of our vehicles or our adverts in the local publications! If you have any questions or would like some further information about the developments please email jessica@cvc-ltd.co.uk

Hopefully you will all keep tuning into the exciting developments up here #thecraggs – there will be lots to see in the New Year! Hope you are all feeling festive and keeping out of the Yorkshire cold! Merry Christmas from all at The Craggs Country Business Parks – Check out the new video to see what’s been going on!http://animoto.com/play/12IE0Ews9iXp4v7uZhR8ug

The Craggs Country Business Parks gets serious about space

People running out of storage space at home or work will soon be able to store their belongings in a self-storage facility that offers transparent pricing, great service and longer than normal hours of access, with the launch this autumn of Craggs Storage – located just five minutes from Hebden Bridge.

Housed out of town in a secure high quality, purpose built, single storey building, Craggs Storage will enable customers to access their storage unit between 7am and 9am seven days a week – perfect for those who work full time or who are using the unit to store business related items.

[horizontal-line]

A range of six unit sizes will be on offer to meet the needs of a broad range of customers and unlike many other storage facilities, access is on a ‘no notice’ basis. CCTV and 24 hour climate control ensures that people’s belongings remain safe and in perfect condition. For added convenience, Craggs Storage will even be offering a collection service, so customers can simply pack up their belongings and arrange a collection date. After a quick & easy registration customers can then check in and out of their unit independently.

Heidi Bingham, Director at Craggs Storage, said:

“People today are more in need of additional storage than ever before for a number of reasons, and it’s not necessarily because we have too many belongings. Changing family circumstances often create the need for more space in the home. In addition, having somewhere to store things like paperwork and stock that’s easy to access means that growing businesses can quickly and easily create more room for new staff.

At Craggs Storage we wanted to offer a storage facility with a difference. By making our units accessible outside normal working hours so people have greater choice over when they check in and out, being transparent about our prices and offering a good range of unit sizes as well as a collection service, we are bringing a fresh approach to the self-storage sector. People today are extremely busy and they are looking for self-storage solutions that fit around their lives, they certainly do not want to have to give notice to be able to access their belongings. Our strapline is ‘Serious About Space’, and we’re just as serious about the quality of our offering.”

Men in White Overalls – be afraid!

When I returned from my travels, I was lead into a false sense of security by the tropical climate that we had in April. True to form the English weather did not disappoint – this week up on the top of Cragg Vale has been windy!!

Thankfully I am sat inside with a nice cup of tea and a central heating system while the “men” have been out working hard.

Windy Weather

After threats were made I unfortunately left my steel cap boots at home and let everyone else put on the white overalls and work in the rain! This week it was a huge team effort (bar me!) to remove the entire roof from one of the units. This was done with some professional help to ensure all of the old material was correctly disposed of. Fair play to everyone who got out in the wind and the rain it was a dirty job but someone had to do it!

In other news this week, we are meeting the marketing company tomorrow to discuss finalising the logos and names for the various businesses so I’m really excited to see what they have come up with!

We are currently in the process of establishing websites for the business park and once established the blog will be moving to there but in the mean time I would love to hear any questions or opinions you all have on the future development of this place!

Learning the importance of Social Media!

And then there was …man power!

Man Power

This week a lot has happened up on the site, the place has been changing every day! I’m certainly getting a feel for how this place is going to look when it’s all finished. I’ve put some pictures up so you can all see how the site looks at the moment. There are lots of people working here now moving, digging, driving trucks and cleaning out poultry manure! All the big bulk feeding hoppers came down this week which was quite impressive so now.

The building at the bottom of the site is going to be called Thornber Energy (subject to Planning approval) which gives Ralph Thornber a platform to delve back into the oil business once more. The house at the top of the road has been sand blasted and the windows have been pushed out so looks really impressive (I’m sure some of you will have noticed it already!). This house is where the main office for the site will be based.all the buildings are ready to be repaired.

This week we have been flying round to lots of meetings so my brain is definitely seeking more space but it’s all really exciting and I’m learning more and more everyday. However slightly concerned at Chas asking me to pull on a pair of overalls for all hands on deck on Monday! (!!) So watch out for that update next week!

I now have a facebook group and twitter page called “The Craggs” where I will upload some more pictures and discussions. Let me know if you have any questions about what’s happening!!

This is worth a read- the positive effects that social media can have on your business!

Everything happens for a reason!

So this is me, just returned from 6 months travelling around New Zealand and Australia. I have spent the past 4 years working as a singer and dancer in a variety of countries and have finally returned home to Since recovering from jetlag and various travelling ailments I was approached by a certain Mr Thornber for a new job prospect! He informed me that his daughter (Heidi Bingham) and her husband (Chris Bingham) were going into business together and buying the old Turkey Lodge at Cragg Vale! They were to turn this run down farm into a super duper, brand spanking new business park and wanted me to come on board as PA for them!
