Spotlight on Vocation Brewery

Vocation is an independent brewery based at The Craggs Country Business Park.
They started in 2015, with two people and a van.  Since then they’ve grown rapidly and now sell around four million cans a year through independent outlets, major supermarkets and world-wide export.
‘We think we’re not doing too badly for a small team of beer nerds on the top of a hill, but like true Yorkshire folk we don’t tend to boast about it!
The brewery has grown, but we’re proud that our principles and standards have remained the same.
We work hard to make the beers we love, so we want to share them with as many people as we can.
Cheers to that!’
It’s great to see them going from strength to strength, firstly with the opening of their bar in Hebden Bridge and now the expansion into Leeds   …….Assembly Underground.

Totally Locally – for just £5 a week

Looking around  social media there are some excellent, well thought out and motivational images about why we should look to buy locally.

At this time of year it is more important than ever.  The impact that is made locally is amazing and real.

Totally Locally was devised by Chris Sands with seed funding from Calderdale Council and the fabulous message started in Calderdale 7 years ago.

After the success of the campaign, Totally Locally decided to give the whole Totally Locally concept & tool kit away for free to any town that wanted it.

Totally Locally noted “Since that time it’s a message that people all over the world have used to promote their own town, and we love that. We thought it was time to bring it back home.”
